Nokia unveiled its latest range of C-Series mobile phones in Nairobi Kenya that will be sold at the end of the fourth quarter of 2010. The series introduces two young and trendy families, the C1 and C2. The C1 family rolls out with a wider selection than the C2 as it debuts with the C1-00, C1-01 and C1-02. The C2 family includes the C2-00 only.
Dual SIM Technology
The Nokia C1-00 and the Nokia C2-00 feature the dual SIM technology that allows users to switch between active SIM cards at the touch of a button as a standard. This allows them to take advantages of reduced call rates on different networks and this makes it easier for cross-border travel. The Nokia C2 features an even more sophisticated version of the dual SIM technology as it allows for both SIMs to be in standby mode whilst maintaining the capability to receive texts and calls. The phone also has a feature that allows you to hot swap the second SIM card without having to turn the phone off this is a useful feature for people who share phones or households that have multiple SIM cards. The other members of the Nokia C1 family (C1-01 and C1-02) single SIM card slots ad feature individual designs and brightly colored screens.
Better battery life
The C1 series will have the longest battery life a Nokia phone has ever had it will be able to go on standby for 6 weeks. The Nokia C1 also comes with a built-in flashlight providing a bright light source.
Innovative Features
The Nokia C2 also introduces Africa to Ovi Mail the new email system developed for Africans this allows consumer email accounts to be pushed direct to the phone via nokia messaging. In certain parts of Africa the phones can also give you information on health care, agriculture, education and entertainment through Nokia’s Ovi Life tools
Multimedia and storage
With regards to storage the Nokia C1 and Nokia C2 can come with up to 32GB storage card capacity allowing you to store your favorite music, photos and videos on the device. The phones will also be MP3 compatible and will be able todownload MP3 ringtones.
Release Dates
